2018 Election Guidance

THIS IS A NON-PARTISAN POLITICAL STATEMENT.

I APPRECIATE YOUR READING TO THE END, CONSIDERING MY INTENTION AND TAKING MY PLEA SERIOUSLY.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A Democratic Republic of Independent States

Adhering to Federal, State and Local laws enacted by

Legislators regularly revalidated and repopulated by

An electorate comprised of individual citizens whose common vision is

Life= Freedom from danger and illness

Liberty= Freedom from tyranny

Pursuit of Happiness = Freedom to find our own happy highway and have access to travel it unimpeded by legal, cultural, educational or financial restrictions beyond the influence of our own responsible behavior.

VOTE THOUGHTFULLY NOVEMBER 6

A silent coup has co-opted our society and moved us from

We all the people to We the few

What Used to Work for the People What Works Against Our Interest Now
Electoral Process In-person informational candidate forums and debates.

Talking heads and editorials spewing heresay, opinions and gossip that creates emotional static and polarizing interference with citizen decision-making.
Citizens motivated to make wise decisions on issues by seeking & receiving information directly from candidates before voting. 40% of citizens so bombarded by irrelevant and confusing information, attack ads and fear that they don’t participate in our democratic process or simply vote based on party affiliation rather than objective issue analysis.
Electoral districts and local laws established to encourage citizens’ easy access to the voting booth. Electoral districts established to achieve political gerrymandering goals.
Citizens holding elected officials accountable for their political and ethical behavior by writing, calling and visiting them. Citizens excusing political and ethical misdeeds to help the “party” retain power.
Trust: Poll watchers recognized voters by familiarity; tallies were trusted; everyone’s vote counted. Mistrust: Fraudulent social media influences, foreign intervention (hacking), desire for ID cards at polls, elections decided by the courts not the people.
What Used to Work For the People What Works Against Our Interest Now
Legislative Process Respectful debate in Congress. Hate language, disrespect, stall tactics and defamation being acceptable.
Back room negotiations between parties resulted in compromises. Back door “corporate citizens” and dark money overshadows the influence of individual citizens and non-profit advocacy groups.
Legislative action on issues important to states and citizens and fiscal responsibility. Congressional stalemate resulting in legislation through executive & judicial action as well as pervasive debt/insolvency at all levels.
Legislators were dependent on their track record to obtain the votes of their constituents. Legislators are dependent on high cost media campaigns funded by big money from Party coffers, “corporate citizens, and corruption.
Elected Officials Seasoned statesmen and military heroes committed to the well being of the union and its citizens. Movie stars, charismatic neophytes and snake oil salesmen more committed to leaving a partisan legacy than forging ground for substantial and widespread well being.

BY RELINQUISHING OUR POWER TO MONEY & MEDIA, WE LET THIS HAPPEN.

VOTE THOUGHTFULLY NOVEMBER 6

Don’t be polarized, angry, and discouraged by injustices we seem powerless to change.

STOPBelieving that partisan politics and government action will address your needs. We share a common vision it’s our responsibility to get us there.

LISTENAsk anyone who expects your vote how they promise to act on issues important to you and your neighbors; monitor and hold them accountable after election day.

UNITE AMERICA TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY TRULY GREAT AGAIN.

Start a conversation across party lines.

Look for something you agree is working for the majority of people.

Talk about how your differing strengths can work together to improve outcomes.

Talk about how to enhance your unified impact on local issues.

TAKE BACK POWER FOR WE THE PEOPLE.

THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE

Don’t vote by rote. Don’t be persuaded by fear tactics and manipulative slogans or empty promises. Make candidates earn your loyalty.
